Checking In on the Bill of Rights

Let’s run the count:

1st Amendment – Trump attacked rights to freedom of speech and assembly, including arbitrarily detaining and seeking to deport noncitizens because of their activism. Targeting law firms for representing political opponents. Don Lemon arrested for reporting.

2nd Amendment – Pretti.

4th Amendment – Warrantless arrests, racial profiling in immigration enforcement.

5th Amendment – Federal court found EOs violated “the Fifth Amendment rights to equal protection and due process.” Enforced disappearance of Venezuelan nationals to a notorious Salvadoran prison where they were arbitrarily detained and tortured.

6th Amendment – Court found EO violated “the Sixth Amendment right to counsel” by targeting law firms.

8th Amendment – Sending people to CECOT to be tortured.

9th & 10th Amendments – Stripping state authority, demanding DC voter rolls, overriding state enforcement.

So… the only amendments in the Bill of Rights Trump hasn’t violated are the 3rd and 7th.

At this rate, by March we’ll have National Guard troops billeted in the homes of known Democrats and civil jury trials replaced with Truth Social polls.
